Book Review of Outside (Outside, Bk 1)

Outside (Outside, Bk 1)

This book took a while to really get going and pull me in. I actually read some of it and was so bored with it I put it down and didn't even look at it for a week.
The book has chapters from two different viewpoints and you don't find out how these two are connected until you're about 2/3 of the way through the book. They also aren't split evenly. So there will be a chapter from character #1 then a couple chapters from character #2, etc. The way the chapters were split didn't make sense and it got to the point where I was willing to skip one of the character's chapters altogether because I was pretty far along in the book and still had no idea who that person was.
So the good parts don't happen until you are about 200 pages in (keep in mind the book is only 281 pages long) and once I got to that point I didn't want to put the book down. The beginning was just too slow for me to really enjoy this read. There are also some errors in the book...lots of missing quotation marks so it's hard to decipher sometimes what is a description and what someone is saying, a few grammatical errors too. For these reasons I had to give it 3 stars.
