Heather Graham kicks off the anthology with "Bougainvillea." Following her father's death, Kit is drawn back to her family home. What appears to be a chance meeting with David Moore, a man from her past, quickly becomes much more.

In "Shelter Island" by Carla Neggers, Dr. Antonia Winter is an independent woman. When she suspects she has a stalker, she travels to secluded Shelter Island so her troubles won't interfere with her boyfriend's shot at the Senate race. But a threatening hurricane sends Hank Callahan after the woman he loves. In "Capsized" by Sharon Sala, DEA agent Kelly Sloan is nearing the end of a dangerous mission in South America when her cover is blown. She escapes her captors after three tortuous days, only to have her boat capsize. A Texas Ranger finds Kelly washed up on shore and promises to keep her secret.
