I have to admit it took me a while to get into this book. For some reason it just didn't grab me as the first one did. However, once I got into it, I was not disappointed. I think Ms. Blair is a masterful writer who definitely knows how to keep a reader enthralled. Her descriptions are terrific and of course, historically accurate.
I especially enjoyed the parts where Alex was seducing Hawk and getting advice from the sister in law. The book made me laugh at times and hold my breath at others. Definitely a keeper.
