One thing I really like in manga is when something happens that makes you have to flip back 8 pages to check if there was a clue to whatever plot revelation just happened. Did the art actually convey hints/reveals that were there, but not screamingly noticeable. It simultaneously jolts the reader out of the flow, but also makes you aware that you should be paying attention - because the visuals are more than just backdrop, they're plot.
That said, the vampire element in this story takes a backseat to the 'angel' part of the title. I don't want to spoiler it more than that. But the author's effort and weaving together the mythos was fairly unique.

And I'm always a fan of authors that don't force me to commit to buying 8-12 volumes to get a story done, when it could be done in 2, like this one.
