Book Review of How Many Hippos?: A Mix-And-Match Counting Book (Time-Life Early Learning Program Series)

Very clever! Most of the pages are split so that you can create new silly combinations. The tops are numbers of things (for example, 7 musical mice or 10 perky penguins) and the bottoms are silly things they might do (such as balance on a panda's fingertip or jump through an alligator's hoop). Then there's another series of split pages with questions asking the reader to compare the number of things shown on top and bottom. Difficult to describe, but the book deals with a complexity of counting in a simple, amusing way.
