About one-third of the way through, I was uneasy about where the plots in this book were going and decided it was not my idea of good sci-fi. It is one of those books which uses technological 'miracles' to advance the story. At the half-way point I went to Fantastic Fiction and looked at the description of the other two books in this trilogy. After doing that, I remembered there were hundreds of other better books waiting my time and decided to stop reading this one and pass it on, as other members have it on their WL. Hopefully, they will enjoy it better than I did.

I shy away from books where someone uncovers a vast conspiracy to control the world and only that person can defeat the evil ones. In this book, there is an evil race determined to wipe out all life in the universe and only the crew of one very small space ship can stop them. I know sci-fi authors often take great departures from reality with literary license, but this one goes way overboard.
