Ah, a good old-fashioned murder mystery ... sort of. Even though this is the second book in the series, it is good as a stand-alone novel. Not being into the arcane, the astrology was lost on me. I also think the London East-End slang kind of took away from the overall excitement. Otherwise, it was a good, action-packed story. I think I enjoyed the interdimensional theories more than anything. Oh, and of course the mystery :o)
