The introduction by Leo Buscaglia says: Let me tell you a most magical tale about The Story Of The Other Wise Man...when 7 or 8 years old our librarian gave me this book..for all these years it has been in an easily accesible place in my home...by turns this book has made me impatient, confuse, deeply moving, life changing.
I say: This classic tale from the famous early 20th century author Henry van Dyke makes for engrossing reading. And while engrossed, you learn many important lessons. A fourth Wise Man sets out to see the baby Jesus but never quite makes it because he is continually called aside to do the hard, important, loving works Jesus wants him to do. Years later he does see Jesus - at the crucifixion. And all along the way, traveling most unwillingly beside the fourth wise man, a servant longs for freedom. The crucifixion impacts him, too.
