Kate Crawford has come back to Summer Harbor, her small Northwest Pacific hometown, having left her high-paying job to work at the smaller Redstone Company. A series of thefts of highly valuable high-tech insulin pumps from her division is worrying her. Then the too-handsome, too-young Rand Singleton rents a room in her grandparents' house, and Kate thinks he might be a con man. Rand, undercover with Redstone security, is investigating the thefts. Is it possible that Kate is behind them?
