This book is the 14th in this series. Raines and his Rebels have fought more than a few "groups of outlaws". The outlaws who have survived have joined together and are heading for Alaska. The Rebels are going to follow them.

The always "rash" Ben Raines moves far ahead of the larger part of his forces and come under heavy fire....Ben is injured.
