If you have some time on your hands and some patience, you can convert both these properties to cash (or good stuff). This books tells you how to do it. It's a bit old fashioned, being pre-eBay, but that's still how they do it up in New England (where the publisher is). And with eBay becoming ever more crowded with sellers and taking higher and higher fees for posting and sales, the old fashioned ways may seem more appealing now.
Besides, yard sales and flea markets can be fun, and you get to meet people (and sniff out bargains) in person, a privilege you don't get on eBay.
