Overview: A very good book about very bad children. Meet the delightfully wicked Darling children - Cassian, Primrose, and Daisy. Cassian is a genius at blowing things up. Primrose, an expert chef, knows all about mixing deadly surprises into scrumptious snacks. And Daisy, the eldest, has crafted nanny-hating into an art form all its own. It all begins when Papa Darling and his new wife leave the children in the care of Petronella Fryer - Nanny Pete - who, it turns out, is more of a thief than a nanny. This is fine with the children, as there's nothing they despise more than nannies. They jump at the opportunity to stir up a lovely mess of chaos and destruction and, best of all, to put their ingenious nanny-defeating skills to use. Add in a hijacked Jaguar cruise ship full of burglars, and a very rare teddy bear, and the result is a caper of stupendously momentous proportions.
Review: Such a great kids' book! Funny, funny, funny! And suspenseful, inventive, and fun. Combine "Mary Poppins" with "Nanny McPhee" and add a little more outrageousness, and that almost describes it. Great verbage and prose throughout. I enjoyed reading this as much as my kids did.
