Darlene Mindrup wrote three Viking books: Viking Pride; Viking Honor; and Viking Bride. I loved this series, as they are different from the usual Contemporary and Historical books that I'm used to. I hope she writes more of them.

Viking Bride is the 3rd in the series, and is about two proud people whose fathers have arranged a marriage between them, as a way to strengthen their family groups or tribes. Mist Egilsdottir is a Viking Warrior, a Shield Maiden, living in Iceland, and was not expecting much from the Norseman who was chosen to be her husband. She did not even go down to meet him when his longboat arrived; but stood on a craggy hill above, in a defiant stance, with her red hair blowing in the wind. Even from that vantage point, Mist could see Valdyr Svensson's blue eyes lock on hers. She refuses to be enthralled by him; but Valdyr doesn't know what to make of his fiery Icelandic bride-to-be; and he's intrigued by her resilient spirit ~ and so the story begins..
