BJ James is one of the authors whose work I consistently enjoy. In this book, she has outdone herself. Although a bit contrived at times, she gives us characters to care about and a story we haven't heard before, even if the setup has been done to death: young lovers separated, find their way back to each other years later, only to discover that there is a child being raised by a single parent, unknown to the other. As usual in these stories, one or both parties are repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot and you may find yourself wanting to yell, "So just tell her/him already!"
