This is a light fantasy novel, inspired by the 1940 film "The Thief of Bagdad." It takes the story further so you learn what happens later on to Abu and the beautiful Princess Bania. Interestingly, the book was written by the daughter of the actor Sabu, who starred in the original film. It kept my interest and was reasonably well-written. Fans of the film and of stories like Aladdin and The Arabian Nights will probably like it best. You don't have to have seen the film to read the book.
