The author, Niriam Nerlove, has written a series of childrens books on the holidays. This book describes the first Thanksgiving as well as a modern Thanksgiving that includes a family gathering. In the book, a young boy helps his mother make pumpkin pies before they head off to Grandmas house. He gets to break a wishbone with a cousin. There are beautiful watercolor pictures in this book.
