The Starfleet Corp of Engineers is a team of individual miracle workers like Scotty of the Enterprise of ol'. He, in fact, is the man in charge of giving them missions from Starfleet Command, but they are captained by David Gold as they crew a Saber class Starship named after one of the original engineers da Vinci. With a compliment of brilliant scientists and engineers they get the special problem solving missions that require special handling and this keeps the crew of the Da Vinci busy.
