Although I am a huge fan of Lisa Kleypas (the wallflower series is among my favorites), I was a bit disappointed with MIDNIGHT ANGEL.
The premise was unusual, a Russian princess accused of murder, the characterizations just didn't work for me.
Although the herione, Tasia, is initially portrayed as a very emotionally strong character, she vasciallated back and forth to the point that almost felt schizophrenic.
The male protagonist in the story was characterized as a typical alpha male but at times, I felt, nearly crossed the line in being predatory almost to the point of rapist -not what I look for in a love interest.
Overall, the plot was interesting and well written, but this was not one of Ms. Kleypas' best efforts.
