I didn't realize this was the 3rd in series when I read it. I prefer to read books in order, but this could easily be a stand-alone. Historical fiction romances are my favorite, and having settings in both England and the American west just made this book more exciting for me. There was quite a bit of humor that had my husband giving me looks sometimes. Daniel seemed to know his daughter very well, and I'm glad Alex finally stood strong against her. Very good book.
