I like to compare and contrast books with the motion picture versions and this is definitely a case where the book outshines the movie. The ironic twist of fate at the end puts the entire story in perspective. The movie version's end made it too predictable. The author writes the story with both sensitivity and bluntness that keep the reader interested and questioning the rights of adulthood and authority.
