The first book in this series I read was THE HEART OF A TEXAS COWBOY (book 2). It was strong enough and interesting enough that I decided to go back and start with book one. In a word, this book is pretty bad.

First, it is too long and the author keeps repeating information to extend the book. The internal dialogue of the main characters was very redundant. Second, I thought some of the comments were corny or I rolled my eyes about some of the things some characters had to say. I really thought the play on the last name (Legend) was particularly corny.

Sierra Hunt needed something to do after she got to the Lone Star Ranch; the author kindly had the school teacher run off with one of the local husbands. Instantly, Sierra had a job.

The third Legend son, Luke Weston, was almost 30 years old as of the time of the story. Sierra and Sam kept talking about the fact that he became an outlaw because he had no one to watch over him. Their concern would have made more sense if he were 18 to 20.

The story was just plain boring.
