This was a nice story of two people with secrets learning to love while coming out from their shadowed pasts.
I enjoy the regency period and Sarah Ladd pens very nice stories. I liked Cecily and Nathan's story which I found to be a nice read. Cecily made a mistake in her past as an impetuous young lady. This mistake takes her away from her family to live at the Rosemere school (which is the focus of the second book in this series). I liked that Cecily had learned from her mistakes and I understood her struggle in being referred to as a lady when she did not feel she was one.
Nathan also has a secret past that he is struggling with, but his struggle is with the fact that he is not made aware of the secret until his father reveals it upon his deathbed. I liked that he was an honorable man who took his responsibilities toward his family seriously.
