A desperate cry for help leads Nancy to British shores. Her old friend Lisa Harwood married the lord of Penvellyn Castle, high above the fog-enshrouded cliffs of Cornwall. But Lisa's good fortune has turned suddenly sinister. Some strange and hypnotic power has cast a spell over her, drawing her into a tangled web of menace and madness!

Nancy, meanwhile, has fallen under the spell of Lance Warrick, lead singer of the Crowned Heads. She soon discovers that he, too, has played a role in the eerie events in Cornwall! Lisa's fate now rests in Nancy's hands. Nancy must descends into the dark shadows of Penvellyn and uncover the haunting, harrowing truth behind the mystery in the mists.
