An absolute gem of a tale! Plucky Emmy, jilted and humiliated, juggles a new job, an awesome friendship, and a fledgling romance all while volunteering for the war effort during the London blitz. But then her world takes a dive and Emmy scrambles to make things right once again. The historical element is fascinating, and Emmy is one of those characters you simply cannot get enough of. Great story that is perfect for the big screen. 4.5 stars.
