If you have read Gone With the Wind, or seen the movie, this book is a must read! But I think you would enjoy it even if you haven't read or seen GWTW. It is a fascinating story of Margaret Mitchell, and how the book, and eventually the movie, GWTW, came to be. Through her letters, Margaret Mitchell is revealed to be very witty, humble, but also a wise business woman. She is truly surprised by the success of GWTW, something she just wrote out of boredom while laid up. But even more, these letters, (>50,000 of them!), give us a picture of the world during the time period. Margaret Mitchell wrote to people in several countries who were trying get the rights to publish GWTW, and she speaks of the troubles they are having, so you get a sense of the world in the WWII era. I just thoroughly enjoyed this book and getting to know Margaret Mitchell. It made me wish she was still around so we could get together and chat! I think she'd be so much fun!
