The second half of this book was much better than the first. And the secondary characters, especially those that became important to the main characters, could have used a lot more fleshing out, especially Vivienne. I am intrigued enough to read the second book if I come across it. Now that the setup is out of the way, maybe more time can be spent on the characters.
