Futuristic, post-apocolyptic teen fiction. Book 2 in The Partials series. Kira has left Long Island for Manhatten, in search of answers about Para-Gen, RM disease, and to learn what part she plays in all of it. She befriends a former Para-Gen employee, who is half insane. Then she is reunited with Samm and Heron. Kira travels halfway across the Continent, looking for her answers. Meanwhile, back on Long Island, Marcus is trying to prevent an all out offensive by the Partials.
This is a great book. It is better than the first, which must be read, in order to understand all of the history, and characters. The cliff-hanger is incredible, meaning that the wait for the next book is going to be torture. Excellant read.
