I was a bit skeptical that I would like this book - the story line sounded a bit too much of a downer for my taste. But I took a chance and swapped for it, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it - and I am finding it one of those books that is "staying with me" - thoughts about the book pop in and out of my head every now and then. Interesting characters, a fairly unique premise, and poignant moments with enough humor thrown in to keep from really bringing the reader down. I would recommend this book to any reader, male or female.
