This story concentrates on the heroine, not on cheesy, steamy love scenes (although you'll melt after reading the one explosive love scene that the book DOES offer), and it tells a very uplifting story about a woman who overcomes her past and her fears. Caroline Shaw comes from "the wrong side of the tracks," stumbling into a world to which she doesn't belong until she meets, and ultimately marries the love of her life, James Goddard. His parents, though attending the wedding, refuse to acknowledge his marriage, and ultimately blame Caroline for a tragedy beyond her control. She rises above their hatred and accusations to create the life she and her son deserve, with the creation of Romance, Inc., a store which honors James's memory.
