Cold Hands, Warm Heart: Alaskan Adventures of an Iditarod Champion

This is a great book about Jeff King's adventure to becoming a musher and subsequent stories from his many races.

As an added bonus, his wife is an excellent artist and there are some fantastic pencil drawings and paintings included in the book, as well. Throw in a forward and notes from Iditarod winner Joe Runyan and images from Iditarod photographer Jeff Schultz, and this is a no-brainer for any fan of dog-sled racing.

Just as a note, though, Jeff was a trapper, and some of the stories and photos from that part of his life are included in this book. There aren't any gory details, but I have to admit it was a little surprising and uncomfortable for me. After considering this, I do understand that as part of his life's story it should be included.
