Fred H. reviewed The Beatles, The Bible, and Bodega Bay: My Long and Winding Road on
This book offers an insight into the life of the Beatles from a business aspect. Ken Mansfield was the U.S. Apple records rep for the Beatles. Early in the sixties he was one of few who the Beatles made regular contact meetings with. He became accepted by them and friendships started. His role was to Keep It Together for everyone involved with the band and those invovled with the music industry. Private meetings and casual parties are recorded in the book. Some good photos are displayed. The book is as much as a journey of a young man who falls into a historical period of time, that will never be duplicated again. For these were THE Beatles and he associated with them like ordinary every day people. The authors journey is enhance by his (eventually) strong believe in God, However is only inserted at precise moments to ground him with his current lifestyle. This book describes personal (off the cuff) moments with him and all of the Beatles. It is done tastfully and is a compelling read. His story could relate to many of us. You should read it. A must for all historians!
