Nest by Esther Ehrlich is narrated through the voice of eleven year old Naomi "Chirp" Orenstein. It is the story of what happens when Chirp's mother falls sick and the ensuing events that change this family's life forever. The main characters are endearing and charming, but the plot is dark and sad and includes some components which appear unnecessary and make the story less effective.
