Good story. From the back cover: Tall Dark--and Deadly

None of Roma Lombard's high-society friends knew anything about the mystery man who was suddenly everywhere the wealthy heiress went. And that was exactly the way she wanted it, because her new "lover" was really her bodyguard, there to protect her from the killers who were stalking her...

Ben McCabe said they had to keep up this deadly charade--by pretending to be married! The trouble was, the more time she spendt with her devastatingly handsome protector--day after fear-wracked day, night after pasion-filled night--the more she ached to make this "marriage" the real thing....

Ok I don't know if the writer of this copy actually read this book but its not all that accurate. A sniper takes a shot at Roma's friend and her family thinks the shot was meant for her. So they send her to New Zealand to be protected by McCabe. They start doing the nasty pretty quickly. The engagement doesn't occur til near the end of the story. Fast paced, steamy, good story!
