Book Review of Dorothy Thompson and Rose Wilder Lane: Forty Years of Friendship Letters, 1921-1960

susyclemens avatar reviewed Excellent collection of letters between two interesting women: on + 158 more book reviews

Written between the early 1920's to 1960 (with some gaps in the years, due to gaps in their friendship), the letters exchanged between these two intelligent, creative women are really a treat. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow a copy from the New York State Public Library system, and now I want my own copy. Rose Wilder Lane is, in my opinion, a greatly neglected and unjustly forgotten writer. Her thoughts about careers, marriage and about life in general were original and far ahead of her time. Dorothy is a little less original, but a little more intellectually balanced, somehow. In any case, I recommend this collection highly.
