Ten years is a long time, especially if spent alone. When Jess Harper sees the code phrase that signifies that one of his old partners is in trouble, it triggers a flood of memories. And central in his thoughts is a woman who could send his blood pumping with just a look - a woman who married his best friend. Jess knows the message couldn't have been sent by his best friend because he has been dead for 10 years. Who sent the message and why? Elizabeth had coped with the death of her husband, throwing her energy into the caretaking of their son, Jamie. Yet deep within her is the knowledge that Jess was out there, somewhere. When someone kidnaps Jamie, Elizabeth has no other recourse then to send out the call for help. And when Jess comes to her, the tendrils of emotion begin to take new shape. In the midst of danger, Jess and Elizabeth face their renewed passion. But will they find Jamie before it is too late? Will they unravel the mystery that dates back more than 10 years? And will their budding relationship survive as they tread on Dangerous Ground?
