"In many respects, the Stuarts were a typical American family - Mom, Dad, two kids, two cars, a house in the suburbs, a vacation every year. In short, they were living 'the good life'.
But that was on the surface. Beneath, it was festering discontent. Though the Stuarts lived under the same roof, they were worlds apart in hearts and minds. they were separated by different goals, different values, different priorities and different needs.
Eventually, the facade of this 'warm, close-knit family' was torn away. The silent alienation they felt found expression in words and deeds.
