What a fun book! Finished it in a day, it was so engaging. A fast-paced, humorous, well-written, and romantic story full of Tolkien literary references, but not hard to follow along even if you're not a fan.

Loved all the quotes and comparisons to the Tolkien books, the quirky people on the tour and funny situations they get into. It had me laughing out loud more times than I could count! The issues aren't light and fluffy by any means though, dealing with betrayal, critical people, financial stress and feelings of isolation.
The main characters seem to be an unlikely pair, yet end up with a lot in common. Trying to hide behind a facade they've created, each one slowly realizes their need for God, honesty, and putting their past behind them for good, not letting it define them. They have a quagmire to get through, but with some help from above and a few loyal friends, it seems the truth may indeed set them free.

Hard to believe this is a debut novel. I look forward to reading more from this fine author. Highly recommend to fans of contemporary Christian fiction!
