  Dont You
Think you understand
an underlying truth
a hidden, life learned meaning
dont you
think you're not a sheep
you've been inscribed
permanently into the '13'
you are self aware
an eagle who flies above
the normal span of thought
Dont you
think you're better
you're greater
you're smarter
you're aware
you're chosen
you're awake
Dont you
think that
your assumption
is a little assuming
presumptious
birthed before
the seed was planted
how can you know
till you're dead
whether you were ever awake
Dont you
think
we
are
stupid
and
you
are
informed
Dont you
forget
that within
complexity
lay lies
within understanding
lay delusions of self
within judgement of others
lay your own final chance
Dont you
think that
maybe
you are not
as gifted
as you might believe
that the same powers
you feel are bestowed
is death you've accepted to
receive
Dont You?

One who before inspired me, has done the opposite with a simple, yet powerfully insidious statement. I'm reminded that behind words, we find the room to hide evil thoughts, a superior attitude, and a denial of our own normality.
