  My heart was
broken,
shattered into a thousand
jagged pieces;
You
picked them up,
melted and fired them
in your furnace of love
and gave it back to me
better than new,
sparkling with joy
like fine crystal in the sun.
I love you with my body
if you will have it,
my heart if you will trust it,
and my soul if you will keep it safe;
In your arms I am complete.

Thanks for the nice compliments and feedback. I wrote this for my husband on our 24th anniversary. Coincidentally, Fouad (his name) means "heart" in arabic, so I think it was especially meaningful for him. He liked it -- yay!
