Is our universe the only one that exists? I have to say no. And the answer requires no understanding of even the basics of physics, such as gravity or the speed of light. I came to my conclusion based on one simple and apparently inescapable condition of existence; in all of observed nature, living and non-living, I am unaware of anything of which there is only one. The reason for this is also easily seen with no scientific knowledge. A process - of any kind - never makes one of something and then stops. So whether the birth of the universe was blind and random or an act of God, I see no reason to believe the creation process would make one universe and then stop. Why would it? Once the process for creating a universe has been established, then that condition exists. That condition would not burst out of nothingness and disappear immediately back into nothingness. For one, because there is no such thing as a moment except within time; nothingness cannot have a moment. Secondly, whatever caused the creative condition to exist must also cease to exist. I get a headache just thinking about it. So I choose to believe in many universes - and to not think about it any more.
