There's a little bit of everything in here: tole painting, faux finishes, stencilling, woodcrafts, making wreaths, but the majority of projects are sewing: quilting, samplers, crewelwork and dollmaking. I enjoyed looking at it, but I confess, I've not tried to make any of the projects.

These crafts are truly timeless and heirloom quality. Even though this book was published a number of years ago, as a 20-somethings, I still find the projects really beautiful and worth making. There is truly a huge variety here as well, and the projects are organized by historic period, and then by category. While there are plenty of lovely sewing and needlework projects, there are also quite a few small woodworking projects, faux painting techniques and other fun stuff. It's a keeper!
