This book was recommended by my Mom. At first I was skeptical as I knew Nora Roberts wrote romances; but MAN!! Was I in for a TREAT!!
Hawkins Hollow is the typical peaceful, loving town, where everyone knows another by name, and give a helping hand if their neighbor needed it.
But then one fateful night in July, at the stroke of midnight; three boys unleash an evil. Now every 7 years, for 7 days; evil walks the quit town of Hawkins Hollow bringing nothing but choas, sorrow, and death to all that dwell there.
Together the three boys grow into adult hood, dealing with what they've released and trying to put an end to what they have done. Will they be able to solve this dark mystery? Will they be able to except the help of outsiders? Will the 7 days of darkness end?
A must read. You will not regreat it and you will find it very hard to put this book down. This is just the first of the three books. Enjoy it and make sure you have a good sturdy chair; this will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Is this really Nora Roberts writing or does she have a crew of ghost writers. Throughout most of the book the dialog was so choppy I sometimes had to read a sentence twice to understand it, but near the end I felt that someone else got to the wordprocessor and finished up the book with more coherent sentences. I have read a few other Nora Roberts books that I really enjoyed, but I forced myself to finish this one. What a wast of time I should have put it down and move on to the next on my list. I will definitely not read the rest of the trilogy.

It took me a little bit to get into the story, but I was hooked half-way through. It was not a normal Nora Roberts. It has demons and ghosts throughout it. I would definitly say give it a shot, because it did turn out to be good.

I loved, loved, loved this book can't wait for the rest!!!!!!!!!!
Nora Roberts once again weaves the lives of her characters together into a story that not only endears them to her readers, but also involves the supernatural. Three boys, born on the same day, make a pact on their 10th birthday to become blood brothers and in doing so unleash a force of evil. The force returns during the seventh day of the seventh month every seven years. In this first book, a group of 3 women end up in their town and team up with the boys, who are now men, readying to fight the evil for the 3rd round. The book covers the introduction of all the characters, their relationship with one another, and their research and joining together into a group of 6 to fight the evil. They succeed in round one, which leads the way into the second book of the trilogy.
I can sum up this book in one word; Cheesey! About the nicest thing I can say is that if you want a mindless read, this is the book for you. And to be fair, sometimes that is exactly what one needs.
I felt like I was back in high school reading this. Honestly, the book is written for someone w/the intelligence and attention span of a 3rd grader. The plot had a lot of potential but the end is so stupid, (and I won't give it away but it's a huge disappointment), that I wished I had followed my original instinct and never read it. I won't be reading the remaining books in the triology, that's for sure.
