Another in the Alex Delaware series. This time a woman's body is found in a marsh. While checking the crime scene three more bodies are discovered. While fear of a serial killer runs through LA Milo Surgis , a new colleague named Moses Reed and our good doctor try to discover what links all the the dead women. They soon have a good suspect but anyone who knows him swears the odd man is no killer. Who is right? Then a wealthy man and his family disappear. Is the disappearance tied to the murders? A cracking good story with a surprise ending.

This book is not one of Kellerman's best with Alex and Milo. I usually love Milo and Alex together, but this one kinds lagged.

The book starts off with a high school student getting a call about something in the marsh, where he is volunteering. The director of Save the Marsh is a weird old coot and checks in but the high school student keeps mum about the weird call.
The next day, the body is discovered. A bright young piano teacher is found, with her hand cut off. Soon more bodies begin to pile up and they are all facing east, with the right hand cut off.
Milo and Alex go on the hunt.Several new characters lend a good mix in this story and it does get interesting, it just did not have the verve that the first Milo and Alex stories had.
Hope the next ones pick up the beat..

An interesting read, but not one of Kellerman's best Alex Delaware novels. If you're looking for a lot of action, twists and turns, you'll likely be dissapointed. But if you're needing another Alex Delaware fix, this will hold you over until the next one.

I like the characters in the Alex Delaware books. The crimes seem to become more grisly with each book. I will continue to read the series.
