This one wasn't as interesting or clever as some of the others in this series. Rather mediocre.

I'm a big fan of Bernie Rhodenbarr.

I love how timeless this series has felt, although the earlier books were written 20-30 years ago. The characters and the storyline were very interesting, and the only downfall in the plot for me was during the funeral at the end, which was a tad boring. Other than that, I liked the book, love the series! :)

If you like the character Bernie Rhodenbarr, you will like this story. I can never figure the mystery out, but I certainly enjoy the path to the conclusion.

I thought this one was much better than his last two. Although he didn't quite explain how Bernie escaped criminal charges this time.

Bernie's about to burn his fingers on a hot coin worth a cool half-million! By day he sells books in his Greenwich Village shop and lunches with his dog-groomer friend, Carolyn. By night he's a master of illegal entry.
