Very enjoyable book. Written like an autobiography, fiction novel of a doctor's wife in western Canada in the late 1800's to early 1900's.

Great book. Like all Oke novels, it does focus around being a good Christian, but I did not find that to be much of a problem. It's just a great story and a quick read with something very important to teach us about life. I find myself constantly remembering the lessons I learned from reading this book.
I also read this book as a teenager, and while I don't remember much of it from that time, I must have really liked it because I put together a collection of this author.
I recommend it as a book for all ages - teenagers on up.

Read if you are a Janette Oke fan. I have read everything of hers I have been able to find.
