Caroline Alexander (born 1956) is an author and journalist. She has written for The New Yorker, Granta, and National Geographic. Her books include The War That Killed Achilles: The True Story of Homer's Illiad and the Trojan War (2009), The Bounty: The True Story of the Mutiny on the Bounty (2004), and The Endurance: Shackleton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition (1998). She taught classics in Malawi during the rule of Hastings Banda.
