Sports photographer Chris Mitchell takes a contracted position working as a guest photographer at Disneyworld, in Orlando, Florida. In so doing, he rips the curtains open and reveals what it is really like to work at the most famous theme park in the world. An informative and gossipy peek backstage at Disney.

I enjoyed this inside look at Disney. Although disturbing to read at times, Mitchell gives interesting facts about the parks that made me want to travel to them and check out things that I never noticed before. For instance, Disney parks don't sell chewing gum to prevent guests from having the annoyance of it sticking to the bottom of their shoe! Really? I never noticed! Although the writing style isn't always great, I enjoyed this book very much. Beware those with young children... you will never experience the "magic" quite the same way again!

Ultimately sad book about a man who basically runs away from his problems to become part of the Disney experience. He takes special delight, it seems to me, to ripping the veneer off the Magic Kingdom and exposing its weaknesses. Granted that just the moniker "The Happiest Place of Earth" should tell you that there is something bad behind the scenes.

There are some random facts about the park and characters throughout the book, and there are insights to how the park actually works. But, I found myself sad that the book was so bleak.

Ultimately, Chris does learn some things about himself and the world from Disney and that fact adds some redemption to this memoir.
