Mystery/thriller lovers, if you haven't discovered it yet, I can't stop shouting it from the rooftops: The Archie and Gretchen thriller series by Chelsea Cain is insanely good. I recommend it to friends all the time, and it blows their minds every time. Start from the beginning! The characters are brilliantly developed and the books are page-turners. SO GOOD! Warning: there is graphic violence in this series, so if that's not your thing, Chelsea Cain is not for you. The fifth book in the series will be out in August. Here's the link if you want to get on the WL: Kill Me Twice by Chelsea Cain |

LOL Amy I'm so with you I've been reading these since the first one came out. I'm front and center at the book store everytime a new one comes out and I just can't get enough of them. Each new one is as amazing as the last. The character are so gritty and dark but you just fall in love with them anyway. |

I am reading the first one and boy is Gretchen EVIL! I really feel for Archie and look forward to the day he can defeat her in his head. |

I agree with you Amy! I can't get enough of this series - it repulses me while attracting me all at the same time. The bizarre connection between Archie & Gretchen is so intriguing - and I'm almost embarrassed to admit that as bizarre as it is, I GET IT, which makes me wonder what is wrong with me sometimes. LOL! I read the first 2 books and had to take a break - they were SO CREEPY. I have thought about these stories and charcters many times since. I'm working up my courage to continue with the series in the near future. |

Marilyn--LOL...I share your sentiments. I actually made it through the third book, but had to take a break. I'm working up the courage to continue with the fourth book.

Exactly Marylin, I am fascinated and repulsed all at the same time with their "relationship". I am picking up the 2nd one today, but won't start it right away. I am going to treat these like Cody McFadyen's Smokey Barrett series and stretch them out. |

Love, love, love this series. Once I start reading one of her books, I can't put it down. I finished everyone within two days. I am waiting very impatiently for the new book. |

Maybe I'm weird but I got bored by the 'relationship' after the third book.

I've got book five on my WL but I didnt think book four was as good as the first three. Books one and two blew me away. |

I loved all of them... up until book 4. Parts of it were good, but the whole idea was just weird, and there was no Gretchen & Archie. It looks like book 5 goes back to them, and I can't wait for it. |

Kill Me Twice by Chelsea Cain book five was pretty much all about Gretchen. I found myself loving and hating parts of it. I especially hated the young creepy new neighbor. Loved the new insight we got into the characters. Trying not to leave any spoilers incase you guys haven't read it yet, and if you haven't you really should! |

After reading this thread I decided to try these books. I read the first one. It was good but very graphic and the images stayed in my head. I immediately read the second one and now I can say I really liked both books. I wasn't sure after reading only one. Now I am invested in the characters and want to know the rest of the story! I have 3 & 4 on order. Thanks for suggesting them! |
