Christopher Breen is a writer and editor whose professional career has been spent covering Apple Computer's Apple Macintosh computers and related technologies. In addition to his technology career, Breen is also a musician who has performed professionally for two decades. He is currently a senior editor at Mac Publishing, a division of International Data Group which publishes the U.S. edition of Macworld. His "Mac 911" column appears monthly in that magazine. He also hosts the Macworld Podcast and writes a weblog about the iPod for Mac Publishing's Playlist web site.

In 2004, Mac Publishing appointed Breen editor-in-chief of the online site Playlist Magazine, billed as "the ultimate online iPod guide." Breen expressed "hope [that Playlist Magazine] will be one of the most dynamic digital-music resources on the Web," but the publication's Alexa Internet traffic rank stabilized near 40,000, compared to 5,000 for competitor iLounge. Playlist Magazine's editorial content peaked in 2005 and declined thereafter until it folded in 2007 and its coverage was integrated into Macworld.

Before working at Macworld, Breen was contributing editor and Help Desk columnist for the U.S. edition of MacUser magazine.

Breen is the author of numerous technology books, including Secrets of the iPod, The iPod and iTunes Pocket Guide, Mac 911, and My iMac.

Breen lives in Northern California with his wife and daughter.
