This is a very good adaptation of the movie. It includes all of the extra scenes and alternate ending of the DVD but worked into the story. You also get a little bit more background into what's going on in the story. If you enjoyed the movie, you'll enjoy this book.

Adds some background information to the movie, motivation, thoughts, etc. Not as much as I had hoped, though. Tone and characterization very similar to the movie. If you haven't seen the movie, this is still a good book to read, and in fact, you may enjoy it even more as a novel.

Novelization of the movie- I liked the book enough to rent the movie, which I now own.

New twist on the standard good vs. evil. If you liked the movie, you'll like the book

Let me start by saying that this isn't your typical movie-to-book adaptation. Where, in my experience, such tend to be slaves to the movie they sprang from generally offering up a flat effect this one uses that original story as an outline and goes on to flesh it out admirably with a depth we're just not used to. Oh yes, the basics are all here but now we're given a context and background that may have been slightly lacking in the movie and I know that I'll enjoy (and better understand some parts) the movie much more the next time I see it.

A very good novelization of the movie. The book filled in a lot of the gaps that I couldn't understand when I saw the movie.

I like the book much better than the movie. Suspense, religion, evil spirits but the good wins out.
Recommed it.

One of the better movie to book adaptations I have run across. Whether you have seen the movie or not, definitely worth the read.

I haven't had a chance to read this book and I hear it's excellent. I just have too many books on my TBR!
